The history of hair extensions and SEISETA methods
Adding length or volume, or transforming a hairstyle: hair additions have a long history. Today’s systems let salons work with strands, tapes or wefts.
Hair additions in antiquity
At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Nauny’s wig, dated around 1051–1002 BCE, illustrates the ancient craft of assembling braids. This Egyptian object is a wig: it should not be confused with extensions attached in salons today or credited with the invention of a modern method.
Today: length, fullness and colour effects
Extensions can add length, fullness or a colour effect. The project determines the method as well as the shade, length and quantity. The client’s own hair and care routine remain essential to a professional assessment.

Weft
Hair assembled on a weft. Attachment, row placement and weight depend on the system and assessment.
Invisible Clip-In
A removable clip system for changing hairstyles. It differs from systems designed to remain attached between appointments.
Flat Ring-On
